I worked and lived in New York City, and this is where I studied art - drawing, traditional stone and wood sculpture, and oil painting. The three dimensions of sculpture brought a new feeling to my painting. My present style evolved after experimenting with collage - first with different types of paper and then fabrics - in combination with oils. My goal is to create harmonious, flowing abstracts, with textures and shapes that remind us of the complexities of nature.
Since retirement in 1999, I have participated in the arts on Kent Island, Maryland. I love this beautiful Eastern Shore, with its inspirational play of nature on the water, fields and sky, all of which enhance my attempts at abstract expressions.
